Associate of Science in Medical Laboratory Technology
You can play a critical role in the diagnosis of illness—and the fight against disease—as a medical laboratory technician. So if the idea of using sophisticated equipment to look for microorganisms, analyze body fluids, or perform other tests on living tissues and substances intrigues you…you’ve found your niche. In this program, you’ll learn how to use industry-relevant equipment and special procedures to perform tests in the areas of chemistry, hematology, blood banking and microbiology.
The Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology
If you’ve completed an associate’s degree in Medical Laboratory Technology, and are interested in obtaining a more advanced degree, the BS in Medical Technology could be right for you. You’ll learn to perform more complex testing in the clinical lab which requires a higher level of judgment and expertise than that of a Medical Laboratory Technician. You’ll learn how to write and implement new procedures evaluate test results, establish and monitor programs to ensure the accuracy of laboratory testing.
Associate of Applied Science in Histotechnology
If you’re precise, skilled with your hands—and enjoy playing detective—histotechnology could be just the field for you. Histotechnicians use both technical and creative skills to prepare slices of tissue for examination by pathologists under the microscope. In our program, you’ll learn about histochemistry, micro-technique and laboratory methods. By the time you graduate, you’ll be prepared to enter the world of clinical medicine, and eligible to sit for the ASCP Histotechnician Board of Registry** exam.
